This pattern is from my personal collection - I bought it in a shop in Falkirk in the 1980s (my father-in-law liked fine hand knitted pullovers) and it had clearly been on sale and unloved for a long time; the lady in the shop looked at the price on the cover and was going to charge me 6p - which was ridiculously cheap even then - and then, somewhat flustered, she said "o dear, no - that 6d isn't it? so that will be - let me see - 2½p isn't it?" - and so I solemnly handed over 2½p.
