Description: Excellent pattern for a man's zipped cardigan in a wide chequered pattern created in sections of plain and purl. I am fairly confident that this is a very early example of modelling by Roger Moore - making it all the more lovely. However, sadly, the instructions are given for only one moderate man's size.
The pattern is in a delicate condition with some tears; The instructions are in tact but I will also supply a clean copy of them along with the original pattern.
This pattern is also featured in Jane Waller's book Man's Knitting Book: Classic Patterns from the 20's to the 50's - published in 1984. The pattern is reproduced as is - not revamped with additional sizes - unlike later collaborations where Susan Crawford redrafts similar vintage patterns.

Price: £3.00 (includes 2nd class postage within UK
- check "prices" section for more information)

Description: Childs all-over cable sweater with choice of neckline. The intended yarn was a loosely spun synthetic mix with some linen for a summery feel; I always thought it a double knitting weight but the specifications indicate it's in between DK and 4ply - "sport" weight.

Airy summer sweaters

Pattern ID: Jaeger 4034
Wool brand: Summer Spun
Yarn quantity: 11-13 (1 oz balls)
Sizes: to fit 34-40 inch chest [4 sizes]

Wool weight: Guessing Quick-knit or 5ply (see description)
Needle size: 4½mm, 3mm, and 2¾mm
Tension (10x10cm): 24sts x 26 rows over pattern

Price: £2.00 (includes 2nd class postage within UK
- check "prices" section for more information)

Description: Womens sweater with optional collar. The pattern has a small tear, and a few light surface creases, which affects the photo but not the instructions.
Note that "summer spun" yarn was sold in two different eras with slight differences - first a 50/50 linen cotton mix in 1 oz balls and later a rayon/cotton mix in 50g balls with a needle size cited as 3mm suggesting that this one was more like a 4ply yarn. The quantities (weight) asked for here is in ounces, and indicate it was designed for the earlier linen yarn. This design is knitted in an interesting pattern using a larger and then a smaller needle on alternate rows so no clues as to the yarn weight there.

Sixties jacket, sweater, and skirt costume II

Pattern ID: Emu 2214
Wool brand: Tweedle, Super Crepe
Yarn quantity: Jacket: 20-24 (1 oz balls) plus 2 contrast; Skirt: 16-20 oz;
Jumper: 9-11 oz in 4 ply.

Sizes: 34-42 inch chest (5 sizes)

Wool weight: Bouclé and 4 ply
Needle size: 3¼mm and 2¾mm
Tension (10x10cm): 26sts x 36 rows bouclé,
and 30sts x 38 rows in 4ply

Price: £2.00 (includes 2nd class postage within UK
- check "prices" section for more information)

Description: A jacket and skirt suit in a textured yarn with a finer knit plain sweater to co-ordinate. The textured yarn is a light weight bouclé yarn, for which it may be hard to fine a direct replacement; there are quite a few DK bouclé types available and it may be best to check a tension square of your chosen yarn and adjust the size that you knit accordingly.
The pattern is in good condition.

Perfectly plain long-line cardigan

Pattern ID: Ladyship 4056
Wool brand: County, Chubby, Double Top
Yarn quantity: 15-19 (1 oz balls)
Sizes: 32-36 inch chest [3 sizes]

Wool weight: 5 ply, quick knit, light weight DK
Needle size: 4mm and 3¼mm
Tension (10cmx10cm): 25 sts x 29 rows

Price: £2.00 (includes 2nd class postage within UK
- check "prices" section for more information)

Description: Classic lady's plain jacket.

Long waistcoat and skirt suit in crochet

Pattern ID: Jaeger 4195
Wool brand: Celtic Spun
Yarn quantity: 16-20 (1oz balls)
Sizes: 34-40 inch chest size

Wool weight: 4 ply fingering / 5 ply
Hook size: 4mm
Tension (10cm): 19sts

Price: £2.00 (includes 2nd class postage within UK
- check "prices" section for more information)

Description: Crochet suit with long waistcoat and mini-skirt.
The pattern is well-used with creasing and marks on the photo. However the instructions are clear.
The yarn type is not easy to infer from the pattern - but I have some Celtic spun and it is a Shetland 4 ply type in 50g balls - seems to come up more like a 5ply/quick-knit/fine DK.

Description: Lovely late fifties/early sixties style dress. It is knitted in an appealing light weight bouclé yarn, for which it may be hard to fine a direct replacement; there are quite a few DK bouclé types available and it may be best to check a tension square of your chosen yarn and adjust the size that you knit accordingly. The pattern is in fairly good condition but with the all-too-familiar horizontal crease which only affects the front photo not the instructions.
