Vintage Patterns: Lacy summer sweater

Please note:

Recent changes (a 70% increase) to the UK postage rates for printed papers sent outside the UK have meant that the price of a pattern for overseas buyers is now about 80% of the cost of the item. I can only apologise for this as I have simply transparently passed the increase on to the buyer. The only mitigation I can offer is to ensure a reduction of excess postage for multiple items shipped together.

Wool weight: Guessing Quick-knit or 5ply (see description)
Needle size: 3¼mm, and 2¾mm;
2mm crochet hook.
Tension (10x10cm): 24sts x 32 rows over pattern

Description: Woman's sweater with gathered collar. The pattern has a few light surface creases, which affects the photo but not the instructions.
The sweater including collar and cuffs is knitted; the crochet hook is used to join the collar to the body and make a firm edge to the neck (see photo).
Note that "summer spun" yarn was sold in two different eras with slight differences - first a 50/50 linen cotton mix in 1 oz balls and later a rayon/cotton mix in 50g balls with a needle size cited as 3mm suggesting that this one was more like a 4ply yarn. The quantities (weight) asked for here is in ounces, and indicate it was designed for the earlier linen yarn.
